And whether you're building luxury homes or low-cost housing, you can erect LGS structures using local labor.

For developing countries, the ideal material - and supplier

Developing countries in the Western Hemisphere are often subject to severe weather. Some suffer earthquakes. Skilled labor can be limited. These are conditions that can make block-and-plank construction a frustrating experience.

But none of these conditions is a drawback to building with light gauge steel from Steel Elements.

Our material is safer in lightning storms because it grounds electricity. It mocks termites. Mold and water rot? Forget it. (And no, it won't rust, thanks to standard galvanization and optional coatings.)

Buildings of light gauge steel are more stable in earthquakes, and put less stress on foundations.

And whether you're building luxury homes or low-cost housing, you can erect LGS structures using local labor.

No special skills required

Ordinary construction skills are entirely adequate to build with light gauge steel. (To see how a crew of complete novices built a Honduran church in a week, click here.)

We've shipped overseas, so that's not an issue. Light gauge steel is light in weight, keeping shipping costs low. Many buildings will fit in a single container. And our proximity to rail lines and a major port can make overseas shipments more affordable than deliveries in the Lower 48.

If you're a building owner, developer, builder, government agency or entrepreneur, talk to Steel Elements. We'll guide you through the steps of designing your light gauge steel building. We'll discuss possible partnerships. We'll even walk you through the process of setting up your own manufacturing facility.

And that could be a very good development indeed.

For very large projects, we can even discuss licensing and helping you set up your own plant overseas. Additionally, we can even help you arrange for financing through the EXIM bank.
